I am going to the junk yard on friday to check out a granada rear end. Other than a nice junkyard man with a forklift, what else(tools) should I bring to get the rear and what else should I grab of the vehicle?

    Thanks guys!

haha that was understood. And they would be going straight for sale hear to finance my addiction. What are the chances that this thing has a 9" or/and disc rear? Google has failed me.

very slim, but there's a chance never-the-less. oh, make sure that's not one of those Granada's with that bastard 8.5" plate type rear end. some granada's have those and they're about worthless and weak from what i have read.

and like the kid mentioned, always look for those consoles. but they're like the 9" rears, few and far between.

if it makes you feel better, ive probably robbed 15 Granada's over the yrs and i actually found a rear disc 9" rear :thumbs2:

on the contrary, there was a plate type 8.5" offered from '75-'78. i have personally seen two of them in the same yard i got my versailles 9" from :yup:. the guy had probably 5-6 granada's & monarch. the monarch had the 9", two of the 4dr Granada's had the plate type rear and the rest were 8"

The round headlight Granada's have 8" removable carrier...most of the square headlight Granada's have the integral carrier

    (y) Let's pray the rear is still there. I'll be heading for it 1:30pm Friday as soon as I get out of class.

uuuh. I would flip out. that could go straight into my new car... thanks!

Can you explain the carrier thing a little for me? :D

needless to say, stay away from any rear end that has a back plate on it. if it has the removeable/bolted on plate, you dont want it. if the center section bolts in from the front (like the one pictured in your link), then you're good :thumbs2:

Ok. I see the picture. Gotcha.
So the rear of the rear end should be integral with the rear end not a removable plate? Is this the carrier stuff thomas was mentioning...
