thats not a bad RPM...I figured it would be much higher!
Did you lock-up the brakes trying not to cross the starting line during the burnout????
    Sweet as always!

I made a couple of passes Thursday with the electronics setup for the 1/8th and it was goin through the traps at 8200 but after 7800 it just wasn't pullin hard.
I changed my launch chip from 3 degrees (4200) to 3200 and shift chip from 7000 to 6600, this slowed me a little in the first 1/8th but picked it up in the last half keeping the car in it's powerband.
Yeah John I was on the brakes hard, very short burnout area their...never did get used to it.
Don't you worry none Dennis...I've got it so I can bolt in a passenger in just a few minutes..:D

Man, I don't know what kind of weather ya'll had...but we had some of that famous "mine shaft" air. 60 deg, 15% humidity, and 30.65 baro. Don't know what the DA was, but I know that everyone was happy..including me. Got some pretty good 60's and a few nice wheelstands. Still didn't break the 6.0 barrier (looking for a 5.99) but darn close. lost in the last round with a 7.9006 dial on a 7.90 dial...and worst part was, I saw his win light and knew right away that I red lit, so I let off the throttle at the 1/8 (or just past there) an coasted through losing 13 mph at the 1000'. Still ran the dial...wonder what it woulda run flat out? Probably better off not knowing.

Either way, had 2 .0000 lights and 2 dead on runs. But still only went 3 rounds.

It was perfect weather Sunday Todd, I bowed out after 2 rounds on both days, I had to chase the dial too hard with the tranny slipping....it was a lot of fun though and a great learning experience.
Got to meet some folks from the board I hadn't met and of course most of the Georgia guys stopped by the pits and we chatted for awhile...it was good to see all of them.
I want to apoligize for being preoccupied with the car, but I came to win and I was doin what I could to do that.
I don't want this to sound like it's braggin cause it's not...the car got alot of attention having turned the quickest ET of any doorslammer in the Fast Ford bracket class.
It did all of us Maverick and Comet owners proud:)

Don as rules go I'm pretty sure once it's runnin right I'll need one...the tracks I run at have plenty of shut down area so I don't need one, my biggest concern is Windy Hollow at Roundup...it's a short shutdown area and I've yet to find out just how short it is (exactly) I don't want to put one on it just for one event but I'll do what I have to do.

Of course I could strap that Crazy Canuck in a passengers seat and that would slow me down so much that even Pinky could beat me:huh: :49: ....smacka smacka smack:biglaugh: :rofl2: :biglaugh:

i thought under 9.99 or over 135mph required a chute. check the rulebook
