    Hi Guys,

My brother has a drag car with a narrowed 9" in it...he's unsure of the year. The car is in need of new brake shoes, but we're unsure of what to order from a parts house. The drums are the 10" or so ones...Should brake shoes from one of the mid to late 70's Fairmonts work? That's kind of what I'm thinking, but want to get some guidance. I think the pickups and t-birds had larger brakes didn't they?

    Thanks for any help!

diameter of the drum and width of the brake shoe - that's the two measurements you have to take and go from there.

x 2 on the drum diameter plus the shoe width. For new drums, something off a Ranger or Explorer should fit. I used the brake setup off an 81 Bronco on my 9" with Ranger drums.
