Just to clerify, a 59 fairlane housing will bolt in if I'm correct, and are disc brakes off of an 8.8 inch bolt on to a 9 inch?

I don't know above the disc brakes but 57-58-59 Ford 9" are the right spring pad width and in my 72 Comet with factory [merc cyclone] 7" wide steel wheels the tires just clear the wheel opening lips..If you fold the upper 2/3rds of the lip up there is plenty of clearence..The housing is slightly larger in dia but with a little work the stock u bolts can be formed around the housing and fit into the stock shock/spring plates..Driveshaft fits, actualy a 1/2" long but it doesn't bottom out..
