Im gonna use this thread as a log to show and keep track of the progress made to the car.

Today I was able to remove the seats and seat belts but ran out of time to remove the carpet, at least some progress was done.

About the front seats, what car do you guys think they came from and if I was going to get rid of them how much could i ask for them?

i will look at them but i doubt they are the original ones....they have a metal base welded to them to keep them leveled

i just received two packages today.

the sport mirrors with the hardware...let me ask the remote part of it only has a chrome ring at the door panel right??

and the side marker which i think my wife bought an extra set that will get here sometime soon....and probably go up for sale.

now the side marker are suposed to be chrome on the out part and argent gray on the inside?

    here the pics.

little progress today since its been raining on and off, I was able to remove all the carpet and it turns out my floor pans might not be as good as i thought, i still have to clean up and vacuum real good the see it more clear, seems that tomorrow the weather is supposed to be good so ill keep on tomorrow.

Here are the pics ( they are not that great cuz i had to close the doors and stay inside the car while it was raining.

Need to see some photos of the floors with all of the sound deadener vacuumed up. Your floors look better than mine did before I repaired them. Seeing that rust color means nothing until you take a rotating paint remover or wire wheel in a drill to get the metal clean. Then you will really see what you have to work with :tiphat:

What you see is exactly what I found under my carpets on my 70 - dried out deadener and it all broke up in little pieces just like yours did - just gets old I guess :tiphat:

all carpet out and cleaned up the rust with a grinder and a wire wheel.....passabger is great just two small holes less than 1/6 as for the driver is not that good i am gonna need a section under the pedals and a section where the drain plus are.

which gage sheet metal should i use???

I'm thinking that 18 gauge might be great for a floor area - 20 might work too if you only need short pieces that has good support under it :)
