Since the season is over I've started a few upgrades on the beast. Installed Autometer 2-5/8ths inch pro comp liquid filled mechanical gauges and voltmeter. Pro Comp II- 2 stage tach, Dedenbear Super crossover delay box, wired in the Pro-Lite (idiot lite) on senders: low oil pressure and high water temp. I fabbed the gauge panel and put the lights on an independent switch and wired in the dome light on a switch. Here's a day and night shot...
"wired in the Pro-Lite (idiot lite) on senders: low oil pressure and high water temp." if this ride lasts 4 seconds what's the point??? looks good ...frank...
Frank those few seconds during a pass the last place I'm looking at is the gauges, the light will alert me to a sudden drop in oil pressure or water temp rise so I can shut the car down...chances are this won't stop the damage thats been done but it could limit it. PHONE?!?!? PHONE? you mean that thing that's permanently attached to my waist?
Do you think it would upset the starter if you pulled into the lights and he looked over and saw you were on the phone? Seriously it looks great!, Dan is going to like the steering wheel.
Alan I think there are some racers that can be that casual about it ...me, I still have major pucker factor at work. Things are a little slow here at work so I'm doing a few things to the engine this afternoon....I'll see if I can get a pic or two posted.
Funny! I think it would be fun for you to call me on your cell phone, simply lay it down and audibly take me through the burnout and a ride down the track!
Here's a few pics of some motor upgrades, fabbed aluminum valve covers and evac system, delphi plug wires with heat shields, POR-15 header paint...it works great as long as it can be applied and cured with exhaust gases from the motor and there free from rust and it's alot cheaper than jet hot. I also put a pro comp liquid filled gauge at the fuel regulator.
