Hey guys (and gals) just found this site.
I know this is probably a long shot, but was hoping someone could help.
Im trying to locate a Maverick that my mom owned in 1979.
It was a 1971 Maverick two door. Yellow with black around the bottom with a black vinyl top.
    and black interior.
    6cyl with an auto trans.
The car had been in an accident prior to my mom owning it., it had a few small dents in the right front fender
The last known location , was Braxton County WV in the mid 1980's.
I would really like to find this car, or at least see it again.
(I hope I have posted this in the correct forum)

I made a mistake in the cars description. The dent was on the front left fender

Welcome to our Maverick world on the www.

You are kinda looking for a needle is a haystack. It would help if you hade the VIN....then you could do a title search.

    Good luck.

    :Welcome: from Atlantic Canada!

Wow, it sounded a LOT like MY car... 1971 6cyl, Yellow with Black vinyl top and black stripes (not really the bottom) and a touch-up to the RR Quarter... LOL Mine came from Ohio though.

If you had a VIN, we do have a very limited list of VINs in the Resources section of the Forum under VIN Lists. Maybe there's an old Insurance card or registration, etc kicking around?

Good Luck with the search! Do you have any pictures of it?

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I have no way to find the Vin.
I only have one pic. Will upload it.
The car was not the factory yellow, my mom had it painted. It was black from the belt line down.
Ur car brings back alot of memories. That is the color my mom's Maverick was before she painted.

    Welcome to the forum!

Good luck with your search! Last seen in WV in the 1980's doesn't sound like a good combination for a car surviving, but you never know!

Yea, lol definitely dosent look good. Sure wish I could have found the old girl. She has a lot of great memories. I hope she is in someone's garage, and not in the scrap yard.

Hi, just thinking, do you have any photos, maybe posting photos on this site and other groups might jog someone's memory. Best of luck to you and happy hunting.

Have you checked with the insurance company who had the car insured back in 1979 for the VIN - it might still be in their records
