I hate it when this happens:mad: I was driving home from town today when out of nowhere I drop an exhaust valve on #3. No warning just a LOUD noise and lots of smoke. The pistond was disintigrated, as was the head! These pics were taken just after the head was removed.

Now thats a bad day!!:( This was my 72 4 door. Now a parts car!

    Mike,

What engine was that? It looks to be a 6 popper, I have a low mileage 250 I can pull and sell you for REAL cheap if you are interested. You can have the entire engine for $100. Need to make room for the big block some time, might as well be now. Car only has 32,xxx on it.

Don't scrap the car due to the motor issue. That's the most replaceable part.

    What he said.
Don't part out a driver just because the engine is a quitter.

I have a spare '73 250 long block that has under 100,000 on it you can have for free... It's dirty, could probably use some valve seals, but ran smooth. I also have a '76 250 shortblock with 109,000 on it that ran well.

Bummer that this happened. Kind of goes with the territory of messing with 30 year old cars.

    Draggon and Jamie,

I love the level of support on this board. :thumbs2:

That car will be back on the road in no time flat.

Hey thanks Jamie! The funny thing is that I bought the car mostly for the motor:biglaugh: Now no motor. Well thats how life goes, at least nobody was hurt and my wife finally got to tow a car:bouncy:

Jamie Ill send you a PM to figure out when I can head up and when you are available. Yes the level of support is awsome(y)

I was kidding about the parts car thing, no sense killing a good car.
