But I ran into one little problem.......how do you take the lock mechanism off of the glove box door? I took off the two screws on the back......but I can't figure out how to get the rest of it off. The front part of it won't fit through the hole.

I think you can carefully pry the plastic knob off the front with a screw driver , I changed mine a few yrs. ago, I believe thats how I got it out.

:hmmm:Hello, same situation as this guy in 04, Im getting ready to patch and paint the glove box door, Can anyone out there confirm all you do is pry the plastic knob off, before I take a couple screwdrivers to it and mess it up?

The plastic knob is held on by a clip similar to what is used on a washer knob. You might be able to get a screwdriver to work, but a hook or something L-shaped will work better. I have used a pick (dental pick). Put the pick between the knob and the door, find the clip, and pull towards you - it releases the tension allowing the knob to come off.

Use spoons, it won't dig into the plastic
