Been kicking around either removing the side trim or leaving the side trim and add a vinyl top .... I would also add a black GRABBER stripe on the hood to match the top ..
Looks pretty good. I was doing just the opposite of the first pic that you posted. To one of my cars. I was seening what it will look like when I remove the top and repaint it.
I think the vinyl top looks pretty classy on there ... and would save lots of work by not removing the side trim ...
Oh, ok. Here's a pic of what I was talking about. I think it will look much better, I'm also going to black out the hood.
Yeah ... if you have a vinyl top you think it looks better without it ... and if you don't have one you think it looks better with it!
my red grabber like yours had the vinyl and i had it removed. also my first mav was a four door that was the same color as your yellow one but its vinyl top was more brown than black. the only thing i dont like about the vinyl is how hard it is to keep nice. we used "Black Chrome" on my wifes 68 cougar top continuously to keep it up, and that was garaged next to my grabber. it would still crack and dry out. if you dont mind the work its ok, but id chose without. either way, its a mav itll look good.
i could have swore both of you told me to leave my vinyl top just buy another maverick buy a LDO i like you cars the way they are
FWIW - My opinion Lose the trim. No Vinyl top. Both clash in style with the grabber hood. If you insist on a vinyl top, I'd keep the trim, put the 3/4 Vinly top (or whatever it's called) and put a regular hood with the grabber hood stripe. I also wouldn't go black vinyl. I'd use the same base color only darker. But... as we say.... "It's your ride. You can do with it what you want." vinyl top style I was referreing to
