I have just put two new sport mirrors on my 1970 Maverick and I need to know where to mount the adjusting nob on the driver side door panel. Does anyone have a maverick with a stock driver side adjustable sport mirror that can show me a picture, or tell me as best they can where it would be installed. Thanks

No it didn't even have the sport mirror on it, came stock with a rinky dink mirror. I am trying to find somebody who had one stock so they can tell me where the adjusting knob mounts on the door panel.

Millz....2-1/2" down from the top and for accuracy, 37" from the rear because the front is at an angle so the measurment won't be quite as correct depending on were you measure. You have an answer to your 9" rear question. Take a look.

I like your setup. That is real neat!! Can you explain the door panel? Custom job. How bout the windows, looks like power windows! How did that go, and what did you use. I would very much like to update mine. Did you install power door locks?

I installed an Auto-loc power windoe kit. Still has standard locks. THe door panel I made myself. Nothing fancy but I like the look and it only cost about $30 to do both sides. THe panel is made from 1/4" press board I think it is called. but I had to cut out the wood in some places to make reliefs for the power window stuff. Then I used 1/2" foam pad to cover the board and hide the reliefs and cut out the mounting area for the armrest. then covered it all with vinyl from a fabric store. I really like the way the Grabber striped turned out with them going all the way around the door. here is a pic of the power stuff.
