Hi, im really happy to have found a board so thourgh about this subject, I was really shocked when i found you guys. I'm Nick from New Port Richey, Fl. Age 24. I just bought a '73 mav 4Dr, 302 auto Yesterday and am really exicted about the whole thing. It has 67,000 miles on it and is in realtive good condition, all origional parts. Only 3 exterior rust spots, spotted rust on underside (FL, whadda sandbar) and the interior is almost perfect ( Although brown in color, and i need new door panels). Has a pretty steady oil leak, and needs brakes, but other than that it runs great! My father is a mechanic, but has a very bad back, so although I have a rudimentary understanding of mechanics, I cant really ask him for much help. I have found that parts are EXTREMLEY rare for this car. So what I'm asking, really, is like where is a good place to turn to for parts, and especially something for a subsitution for a Haynes rebuild/repair guide. This place seems like its a very close group of friendly and dedicated people, and I'm sure that i'll get all the help I need. Thanks Much!!!!!(y)

    Welcome

To the board and the new ownership of your Mav. As for the chiltons manual for your car check with Craig Selvey. He always seems to have some. That is where I got mine from . I have sold and bought parts from other fellows on this board and also E-bay. Good luck on your project.
    Later Tim

    Welcome!

For new re-pop parts try Auto Krafters, they have a limited variety of interior and exterior items.

For carpets and trunk mats, try http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/ They will even send color samples beforehand.

As metioned before, Ebay is also a good source for all kinds of parts. Do a search for "Ford Maverick" and you'll come up with +/- 250 items per day.

Last but not least check out the "Parts For Sale" and "Parts Wanted" forums on this website. Many people may have what you need.

Good luck with your new car and post some pics when you can.

    Sam :)

welcome to the board. for engine and suspension parts try the local napa first. i just recently got new motor mounts for my 71 at napa for about $14 ea. ebay has a lot of maverick parts. also, just mention what you want on the parts wanted forum here and you'll probably get a lot of replies. good luck, and i know what the bad back is like. but you've got a good source of knowledge there.:D
