I saw a guy's ride who installed an aftermarket steering column in his mustang. It was all chrome, really sleek and nice. Looked like one of those hot rod parts. I did a search to see if anyone had done something like that. I thought it might look really interesting.

so this is what the guys from ididit emailed me back:

"We currently do not offer a column specific to your car. One of our
Universal Series may work but there are some significant differences. We use
a GM wiring harness in all of our columns as well as a GM splined shaft at
the top. The '71 Maverick should have the key in the column. we offer that
as an option on any of our tilt columns. It is not Ford or GM but an
ignition switch that we've incorporated into our column. It does not lock
the column. check out the tilt columns with ignition on our web site and see
if you think one of those might work. Any questions feel free to call or
    write us back."

What kind of modifications would I have to make to make this GM part fit?
