if anyone could help me with what to get start with it will be great.

(buying a new one from the internet isnt an option as i live in Israel and getting one from another Maverick isnt an option either. Its kinda very rare car here).

I'm really surprised there is a Maverick in Israel....not something you'd think you'd see there...

Actually we got plenty of mustangs and chevys here. but i think there's less than 20 mavericks in Israel. i bought my Maverick because she was very clean and almost no rust which is a realllyy big thing here in Israel. most of the old cars here are covered in rust.

Is that a fiberglass hood? If so, it would be fairly easy to fix it up.

Well that's the point. Its not.
if you can notice its far from a stock hood, the small "sockets" or whatever (i don't know what to call them xD) made of fiberglass. it looks like the guy before me cut parts of the hood to hand make these sockets with fiberglass.

the other horrific marks i believe it was his poorly try to fix the hood. its a metal hood with fiberglass "repairs" i think. i need to take a picture underneath the hood to give you the bigger picture.

I see your "pockets" now. Since it's rare piece over there, I would find another hood that has a similar "crown" to the panels and weld in new metal. Go slowly and use low heat. The big panels will warp easily.

    Good luck,

You know, it isn't all that bad looking. I have seen worse hood modifications.

Its not bad looking, its just a bad job that's all. i think i will keep this design but fix the hood properly and paint it. if you can notice it is not the same color of the car.

From what I see you should sand down the whole hood with 220 6' da . Make it so you can feel lite ridges in it. Smooth over any lips that are raised . If its not deep use spot putty to fill in small spots an spray it with filler primer an sand with 320 6" da . Then spray your paint over that.

So, i made some nice progress today and managed to sand the hood a bit. here is the result so far:

I've taken down the scoop and sanded the hood and thought to myself how hard would it be to make the hood look good with the "maverick grabber scoops" which was my target.

And than i thought of another idea. because i lack the skills to make something as cool as the grabber hood i can put this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polished-Al...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f2d166a25

but i dont know if i can. so i need your help guys! tell me if i can install this on my car and if i should do it considering i cant buy a hood from the internet and cant buy used one in my country because we don't have a lot of mavericks here :\.

btw the cars engine is 4089 6L 1 carb.

Can't be done - if you look at a real Grabber hood, you will see that the Grabber "scoops" are installed in the raised sections on either side of the hood - won't work on a stock flat hood like yours :)

didn't quiet understand what you said there. i can't put the aluminum scope? i can cut the hood so it will fit. i know i can't make the hood look like a grabbers hood because i lack the skills. but fitting the aluminum scope sounds like an easy task if you take your measurements correctly :). i just need to know if it will fit on the carb and tomorrow i will check if its not colliding with the metal frame of the hood.

what you posted about the engine it looks like you have the 250cui inline six with a single barrel car. the scoop on ebay won't fit. that's for v8 engines only, as they have the carb in the middle. so it's a no go...
