So have had the car down the track 3 times so far this year. Been hoping to get a mid 12 second pass out of it after converting to fuel injection. My first time out I ran a 14.1 at like 105 with a horrible bog. I only made one pass that night because I got there late. Next time out I ran a 13.010 at 108 right off the trailer. Didn't improve any over the night car never fully cooled down. Last night I went down once again late after making some adjustments and when I got there the track was only running 1/8th mile. But I ran a 7.99 at 89 mph first and only pass. I know I need to drop my 60 ft even more but I'm still tuning the efi. I'm thinking last night would of been a 12 second pass. I attached the timeslip from last night and my previous best with the car. Let me know what you guys think 20161005_080819.jpg

    Quite an improvement!

You were probably looking at a 12.30 pass in the 1/4 with that 1/8 mile time.

Thank you. If I was doing 12.30s I'd be completely content. I have nitrous on the car that I haven't been using. So if I can do 12.30s on motor the nitrous will be just a nice bonus. Lol.

The car has a stock 302 shortblock. Unknown cam, afr 185s. Edelbrock Victor Jr intake. With a c4 with a 3,000 stall converter and 4.10s. Not much to it but it seems to do decent.

    You're welcome!

You're previous best in the 1/4 mile is very similar to my '72 Grabber. I ran a 13.15 @ 108 MPH in the 1/4. My 60 foot time was just a 2.08. My car a 302 with Edelbrock Performer heads and Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake with a C4 trans and 4.11 gears. I have the stock stall convertor.

I think with a 3,000 stall my car would run in the mid 12's. Hopefully when money isn't so tight I can get one.

Converter was one of the best bang for buck things I did besides efi. I just went with a cheapo one and got lucky that it seems to be working out decent

I have a fellow Maverick owner that said he would give me a 2,800 stall that he used to have in his car. I'm supposed to meet up with him at the end of the month. He went to a 3,500 stall in his 347/C4 car.

I went down the track again last night hoping to get a full 1/4 mile pass and no luck. By the time I got there they had it shut down to 1/8 mile only. Car was very consistent all night for what I'm used to, ran within .065 of each other in the 3 runs within a half mph.

Car still won't 60 ft good though not sure what I need to change out. Can't get under a 1.9. Not sure if the car just doesn't have enough power or what.

This is the time slip from the last time and the 3 from last night. Left lane all passes.

Looks like to need to change from an unknown cam to something that will give you some more torque on the bottom end, just not getting out of the hole and 60' is killing you with 4.1os you should not be bogging and going with deeper gears would probably kill you on the big end but would be okay for the 1/8.

How are you launching the car ? Foot brake at a little above idle or foot brake and as much rpm until it wants to push through the lights

Yeah the cam is gunna get tackled this winter after track is shut down. And I tried both ways you said. I think my better run was from just right above idle and letting it flash when I launched. Still was only a 1.9 60 ft though.

Would a dual-plane intake improve your your 60 ft like the Elder Brock air gap

Possibly. Not sure if I'd be giving up power elsewhere though. May try a converter change over the winter. But I want to see how the car does on nitrous before I change that. Nice 150 shot off the line should fix my 60 ft :chirp:
