nickmav70, and i went to look at some 70' mav. parts. he got here at 9:00 AM and we took off. round trip for us was 12 hrs and 366 miles... i think Nick drove 340 miles round trip to my house and back...that's 706 miles...16.5 hrs for his trip today... the guy with the mav. also has a 70' Boss 429 Mustang...1 of 500... he showed us where he has it insured through State Farm for...$230,000.00. he takes it to cruise ins but said it isn't good enough for ...car shows... Nick hit the Mother load...he left here going home with... ...pair of tail lights (complete) ...front bumper (complete with all brackets) ...front gravel guard ...front lower pan ...windshield washer tank ...rear grabber spoiler kit (5 pieces) we called Jeff and he gave us a shortcut across Atl. to...Baby Janes...we were in Cumming Ga. thanks for supper Jeff...:Handshake we left there and stopped by Summit...Nick had never been to the store... as always..."a large time was had by all."... ...Frank...
yeah thats actually how i found it, from craigs list called him and ask about them and figured it sounded like a good trip spent 30 minutes in the pouring rain getting the gas tank out (which looked solid from the bottom and top) through a mountain of leaves, pinestraw, and wildlife skeletons just to find once i got to the rear bolts that i was gonna have to use some "persuasion"... get to poundin and what do you know... the two halfs were comin loose and rotting apart... all in good fun though spent half the day trying to find this guy though... he was lost some where down "jot-em down" road... asked for directions from 4 different people just to get lost 10 different times but all in all it was a pretty productive day... it was 18 hours start to finish but worth it... and as always, nice to get out and spend time with fellow maverickers thanx to jeff for some good, um i guess that was chicken , cars lookin great in my opinion thanx to frank for joinin me and if anyone needs the number for the guy i still have it... he wants to get all the good peices to people that could use them before it goes to the crusher -passenger fender (decent) -driver door (good) -quarter and rear glass (good) -rear small bumper mounts (good) -manual steering box (how should i know) -3 speed manual steering column (good shift collar) -clutch pedal assembly (good) the list goes on and on pm me and you could call him and ask yourself
I was up at his house about 2 years ago when he first started listing all those Maverick parts ... he had about 3 or 4 Mavericks plus a barn full of parts stuffed up in the rafters. He was gonna sell me everything for like $500 if I remember right. But the problem was he said I had to take and remove everything ... and as you guys saw ... there wan't anyway a flatbed tow truck was getting up onto that guys property!
Dan, i don't know if it's the same guy or not. he only had 1 Mav. and his shop was a long way from a barn. to have owned the Mustang as long as he has, he is a great guy. (not your normal "Mustang" person). all these parts were off the car. he said "anything you need, let him know before you come and he would pull it."... Nick... as for the chicken....just because you didn't reconize the...bone... in your piece of chicken doesn't mean...it wasn't chicken. ...Jeff and i have noticed that there has never been any...wings...in the pan.. and...this car, a '70 or 69.5'. it had the key in the dash and key in the 3 speed column....drop-in tank and 69.5' sill plates. ...red interior...first...red package tray i've seen. a great trip... Frank...
Different guy then ... the guy I am thinking of owns an early 60's Chevy II that he shows ... if he still has it ...
Jamie, PM Nick and get the guys #. give him a call. he is just down the road from you...Jot-em-Down Rd. Frank...
