My car is in a speed shop right now to have chassis work done. I've got to get a set of rear shocks to help plant the tires at the track. I've looked through older posts and found a couple of suggestions; QA1 and Rancho in particular (Koni?). Anyone running a high-6 second (1/8th mile) or faster Maverick? What shocks are you running and are you happy with them? What would you do differently if you had it to do over to help your 60 foot times (relocate the shocks? go coil-over? mono-leaf? other?)? FWIW: I will be running 10.5" X 15" Slicks and Caltracs. Thanks guys, Rick
I'm going with the QA1's and Cal Tracs Rick...then at some point a mono leaf. I understand the QA1's are a very streetable shock also which played a large role in why I chose them. HMMMM...did I hijack this thread because my car is not a 6 second car
Yeah, I read your posts and saw where you were going with them. Did you have to special order them? Are you going to have to fabricate mounts for them? Any other information you have would be cool (p/n, who has best price, etc). Thanks, Rick
http://www.qa-one.com/shocks/studconversioneyelet.html Here ya go Rick...they make kits to convert the lower eyelet to stud mount.
I run QA1's......seem to do just fine.... have been a 1.39(once ) of course I run coil-over set-up. Stephen Moore runs them with leaf springs and his car hooks real good!
I like the qa1's, they seem to be a real good shock.....not to mention they are completely rebuildable and revalveable. Did I mention that they now offer bolt in shocks for the front of our cars now!! They also now offer a double adjustable shock!!
