another flywheel thread

    so what i want to know is do ford trucks have the 164 tooth flywheels on them. i got my enigine out and it had a 164 toothed flywheel so i need another 164 tooth flywheel. i got a 157 tooth 28oz and it wont work. i don't need someone to sale me one just some info on ford truck flywheels so i can go to the junk yard in the morning.

    164 T bells are iron, during the 28oz era, on cars and trucks.
    164 T flywheels came on 351w, 351c, B302 cars, and can be found on some smaller engines in trucks.
    They use 11" clutches. Better than the 289/302 car 10" clutch IMO, however the parts do not interchange. So you need to know this if you go to buy a new clutch in the future.

    so i ended up buying a brandnew 164 toothed flywheel at napa. i had to say it was out of a late 70's truck to get the one i needed though. but i was lucky enough to find it.
