I got on of those summit 5in tach it came with all the hardware, but i still cannot get the oil sending unit to go into the 302 block. I even went to local ford dealer and they sold me an oil sending unit for a 302.

The problem is it starts to thread in and after about two threads it pops out of the block. Does anyone know the inside diameter I tried 1/2in and it still did not fit. Or could it be how the orginal hole was drilled? Or could it be a metric block?

No not yet if another idea does not work. What size is the part that goes into the block. I bought alot of pipe bushings and fittings today would like to only buy one if possible.

The oil passage in the SBF is 1/8" npt. It is close to 3/8" outside diameter.
If you are having a hard time with it try running an eighth inch pipe tap in first. (this info is for the US cars - I don't know whether the foreign Fords are the same)
