    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone here put a concealed radio antenna in their Mav/Comet. I need to find one to put in mine, and I can't seem to find one very easily. I don't want an antenna on the outside because it messes up the lines a bit. Most boats have concealed antennas, but I can't find one of those either. Thanks for any suggestions or help. I guess I would need a booster as well.

For my Sprint I just zip tied it up under the dash, works great. I dont like external antennas either.

We just got through making brackets to mount it above the headliner. There are rubber grommets that isolate the ant. fromt the steel brackets. Here's a pic.

That is a pretty sweet setup! Unfortunatly, I already have the headliner in, so I will probably do what Dennis did. Thanks again, you guys!

I have already had to confess that this is my first blue oval project to build. Most of my past projects were bowties. I will be glad to post some pics of them, I just didn't think anyone would be interested in bowties on this board. However, I did find out that my Chevy tools actually do fit Fords. Amazing isn't it?

As long as your not goint to put one of those "C" word motors in your Mav, you can stay.

Is the "C" word you are referring to a Cleveland or a Chevy? Just kidding, it will be all Ford and I hope it will be spectacular. Got to go back to work on it now. Thanks for letting me stay.

    antenna

Corbin, I frenched my antenna into the upper quarter on the passenger side of my car it is between the rear window and the back glass, I will try to take a picture tomorrow to let you see, by the way I just used a 1 1/4" pipe welded a washer on the bottom and a drain tube for any water that would get in it drilled a 1 1/8" in the panel tac welded from the trunk side then took a dye grinded finished the hole on the exterior for a proper fit then finished welding on the exterior alittle mud and there you go. P.S. did you recieve your mirror yet? Thanks Chandler:D

Sounds intriguing.... Something to look into. I am expecting to get the mirror tomorrow. Thanks. Where did you guys get all the extra radio antenna cable? Does it come in rolls, and you just cut it and make connectors, or do they make extensions? I have been to Radio Shack, and they didn't have anything. Thanks for the info.

What I did I went to a car that had a rear antenna and took the wire out, and yes it did have a factory splice that I unhooked and plugged it into my antenna wire and then into my radio it works great :D

    Antenna's for sale

I work for Boater's World and we sell ant. wire that you could splice together. Look for RG-XXX the xxx's stand for different guage wires you should match yours up to what ever fits. We also sell those stick on glass antenna's.
There are stores in Santa Barbara and San jose. Although I have no idea how far those would be from where you are.

the first antenna I hade on my mustang was mounted under the front fender facing forward, plenty of room under there. I now have a VW jetta antenna mounted on the raer poertion of the roof, the maverick has the same antenna mounted the same.
