talked to a guy tonight that has a 72 maverick drag car, been sitting 6-7 years. no engine or tranny, or radiator. has an 8 pt. cage, racing bucket seat, b&m shifter, mallory 140gph fuel pump, 90/10 shocks in front, 50/50 in rear, hood is us body source, mallory ignition with rev limiter, tach, other gauges, centerline wheels, 9" rear, moser 33 spline axles, and 4:30 gears. also he has a 12-15 gal fuel cell to go with it. needs a windshield but the rest of the glass is good. no rear seat but he said a friend, a sheet metal worker, did the panel between the trunk and passenger compartment and the door panels. all body work is done but will need paint. this is all his description. wants $1500. thinking about going to take a look at it.what do you guys think.:)

Run, don't walk to his place. Sound's like it may be a steal. Wear your work clothes and get underneath for a complete inspection of the chassis. Tape the wheel base on both sides, etc. If you are satisfied it is a good buy, then load it up and enjoy.

I think you should go look at it and wait for my wire of the money, load it on your trailer, and bring it to Georgia. I'll pay for hauling fees:D

it worth it for the rear and set up... but does he have the paper work for the car? it always cheaper to by a halfway done car then to build one yourself.

I'd buy it if I were in the market for a race car. Heck, I'd buy it even if I wasent, if it were local.

i went to look at it and decided not to buy it. too much of a project car for me. no glass in it, dash out, some of the parts had been sitting around for years. looked too chancy to me. i made an offer but he said no way. it was at his brothers house. he was working on 2 other small bumper mavericks in the garage. 1 a 6, and the other a 302. also a 4dr comet parked in the street. told him about the board. maybe he'll get on here. would have been on earlier but couldn't get on the board again. don't know whats happening.:)
