So the problems seem to never stop here in Sweden, yesterday everything in my car just lit up like a christmas tree, there was suddenly light in the ashtray compartment, I can see how fast I´m driving (light there as well), and even a light in the transmission "field", I was happy all day, but at the same time the button on the floor for the headlights stopped working, and the "lightbar"(the knob controlling the headlights/marker etc) is kind of unreliable, all the lights come on an off depending if I touch it just a little...

Today the battery is completely dead (it´s just a few weeks old) and no lights inside work at all...

    Any ideas´??? :hmmm:

    One more thing, I need a fan shroud, shall I buy a 3" x 20" or the 5" x 20"...?

Your headlight switch burned out. It sounds like it's grounded itself to the body, hence all the other lights coming on. The dimmer switch on the floor isn't working cause the headlight switch is burned out.

Is it a universal after market shroud?? or a factory replacement?? Sounds like aftermarket.Need more clarification on the dimensions.3" deep by 20" wide?? should be fine.I would think 5" depth will be a bit much.As long as it covers the whole core of the radiator and allows the fan to sit in the shroud a bit(like 1/2") you should be fine.Remember you dont want the fan totally inside the shroud(doesnt work efficiently like that)Ditto Baddad457 on the headlight switch.Good luck.

I must be doomed to walk in darknes...

How come everything falls apart all the time, I fix one thing and then the next thing stops working, I like fixing stuff, but this electrical issues are killing me...

    Any ideas???

If the headlight switch grounds out, it will drain your battery and you won't start.

It really is amazing how much stuff goes through the headlight switch. Had one go out on my wife's 05 mustang, even the windows wouldn't go up all the way.

About time to shoot you another care package?

By the way, how did that carb work out?

The carb is still sealed in the package!!!! I have had so many other problems since then, and they sure keep on coming, another package sounds like the only right thing!

Must get stuff working before I can go to guy that helped me before to set the carb up, feels like it´s a risky mission for me to do it myself...

So what do I need this time?, just got money as well, so if you are up for it let´s get down to business!!!

    Thanks!!!!

The battery is dead. Recharge it and replace the headlight switch and all should be well afterward.

Yes I forgot to tell you, it´s one of this chrome aftermarket ones, I don´t really know if I want one cause the price for shipping it here is awful, on e-bay I would pay 19 usd for the shroud and another 59 usd for shipping, gets kind of expensive for me, but if I need one I guess I have to save up some cash anyway...

Maybe I should look for a factory replacement instead... really don´t know the difference.

    Thanks!!!

Factory style are made from fiberglass/aftermarket replacements are usally aluminum or steel or fiberglass depending on manufacturer and application.Have you tried to purchase an autoKrafters catalog.www.autokrafters.com.You will be in heavan when you get one,but then you will end up in the depths of hell when it comes to shipping costs.Good luck my freind hope this helps.:tiphat:

Is not my car supposed to be cranking even with a broken headlight switch, I charged my battery but nothing happens, all the eletricity works, but when I try to crank all I hear is a large "click" from somewhere on the passenger side of the engine room...

I guess I must be cursed...

    Please anyone???

That is the starter solenoid clicking. It will do that if the battery is low, or if the electrical connections on the solenoid are dirty, preventing full current flow to the starter. It can also be that the starter is froze up, but from the sounds of it, the battery is probably just low. The bad headlight switch is doing is draining your battery, but it shouldn't be drawing enough current to keep the starter from turning.
