Back in the early seventies there was a Ford dealer in the Chatham, Ontario area named Sandy Elliot who campaigned some very hot Mavericks and/or Comets in black with red and white candy-striped paint schemes. Would any one out there have a good pic or two of any of these cars? Thanks for any help that you can provide. John B.

I have some in a book of his '68-'70 CJ Mustangs, but no Maverick pics.
I thought it was red, white & blue but you may be correct.

    Thanks Seth,

Those are great pics. I am including the only pic I know of that shows the car I'm looking for. This one is a Mav, but as you mention, he did run some Mustangs in the same pint scheme. You can see from this pic that the colors are red, white and black though. I believe Barrie Poole was his driver. They were known as the Border Bandits, probably because of their close proximity to the U.S border, and their frequent forays over to your side of the fence to snatch some U.S. prize money! John B.

The book that I have has Barry Poole in some pics, but more of Sandy Elliott.

The closest I have is their Pinto Pro Stocker, which replaced the (I beleive)
    Comet.

Scroll down to the 4th or 5th post and a few down from there.
This car was in Milan at the NMRA race last year, restored.
I took a ton of pics and a couple vids from the ride he gave me around the grounds:thumbs2:
