Hi guys. Pretty simple question.. for once.

Have a new red carpet for my Comet and the color is "off" from the rest of my cars red interior, especially the headliner which I know can be re-dyed to better match everything else, it's a bit too bright and lighter red in comparison. Really trying to avoid having to change everything else to match the "too bright" red carpeting color so my question is this.....

Has anyone around here ever dyed ANY carpeting, regardless of car model, but to a slightly different shade within similar color family?

Figured I'd call a few upholstery shops and maybe a couple of the mfgrs themselves.. but just thought I'd ask here too while I'm floating around the web today.

Thanks for any input or experience you might have to share.

At a used car dealer back in the day we did quite a few. Always us sem paint. You'll probably have to take it out to do a good job , not too hard but at a point carpet isn't as soft as before but brushing helps.

    Thanks for that.

I've seen the dyes on shelves and some of the end results on lower budget restorations.. but I wasn't sure about changing colors or modifying tones/different shades of the same colors.
