Could you post what is stamped on your engine tag under the coil? If it's an auto please post yours as well ... Also indicate whether car has A/C or not . Thanks ... Dan
Thanks Ralph ... here is your post ... I deleted the first one .... According to your tag Osborne Reproductions does have the correct Engine ID labels for 1971 302 Mavericks. The 288 indicates 302 with AT .... we'll see if somebody posts a M/T car ... which should be a 287 code. You tag indicates the engine was built in June 1971. What is strange is that the C indicates it was built at the Cleveland engine plant ... that doesn't make sense .. did they build Windsor's in Cleveland? Dan, I have an original 71 302 automatic, no A/C. The numbers on my tag read as follows: 302 C 71 10 (on the top line) 1-F K288J (on the bottom line). The K288J also matches my build sheet. Ralph
I just checked the tag again and it definitely is a C. Not sure what that means, I do know my car was assembled in Canada, if that makes any difference, I doubt it though.
