aod swap problem

    well i have finished my 302 aod swap outta a 88 grand marquis i swapped a intake and carb on it and the only prob i am havein is it wont shift into high gear i dont have anything hooked up to it except transmission lines and a shifter wat do i need to do the other car drove fine because i drove it

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    You need to hook up the TV cable from the trans to the throttle linkage. Dont try to drive it till you do or you will cook the trans.

    Lokar sells a cable. It has to be set up, the wrong pressure (like Mavman, said) will burn it up in less than 1/2 hour....

    if you drove the car with out the cable chances are really good that you damaged the aod already. sorry to be the barer of bad news.
    it hooks up to the outer lever where the shift lever is on the trans.
