Alright.. so.. crap. I have just bought KD-2AODHT which would be the tv cable from lokar for a ford AOD. The helpful man from my local ford racing retailer told me to hook it up, brackets and all, and when i'm attaching the cable to the carb to pull it through about 3/8 of an inch and then tighten it down, that would be the right amount of pressure to have it shift properly and all. My question is, if any of you AOD swappers have used this cable and how did you set it before you drove to the tranny shop to have the pressure set properly?

this is an old post. ive installed those kits before. lokar inclueds a spacer tool to set the gap refered to. also i have found the spring on the cable is too light and add a carb return spring to the lever on the trans to give it beter tention. you do need a gage to set it right. i would not drive the car at all untill that cable is proplerly adjusted. if you dont feel confident the have it towed to a trans shop or see if you can get one of there guys to come and adjust it for you.
