no, all i have is the cable and i have no clue on how it hooks up to the transmission lever. im assuming the side with the spring goes on the trans. is there a bracket that i need to hook it up to the trans???

the cable threads through the trans. bracket. then you put the spring on, next is the L shaped bracket and outer cable.
without the Lokar bracket on the carb. it will be hard to set this correctly. J.M.O.
i also got their throttle cable (y) .

I left it unhooked when I ran it in my t-bird. I had to test and retest till I got the tranny started upshifting. I just pulled on the cable a little at a time, and tied it back in place till it upshifted by its self. Onc I had it set, the tranny shifted like clockwork, 1st into second was at 25 mph everytime 2nd into 3rd was at 45 and overdrive hit right at 55, you could time your watch to its shifts. And yes, I could hot rod it, shifted manually, down into low, then when I shifted into 2nd, tranny shifts, as soon as it did I jammed it back down into low on the gear shift, this kept it in 2nd gear, then shift into 3rd, then OD. It shifted like it had a shift kit in it everytime, I drove it for 3 years like that, never had a bit of trouble out of it setup like this. Downshifted fine too. Just my two cents, Chad

If I had your kind of luck I would have won the last three 100 million dollar lotto prizes.
If I tried to do that I would have gone back to my C4 after the first tranny burned up. (instead I learnd from my son's mistakes and never got the first AOD.

LOL! I hear that! For some reason, when I had the cable hooked up, it would shift mushy, kinda erratic in its shift points. We had a crown vic that was the same way, did the cable tie back ,and it was like a brand new tranny. Ive been working on the C4 in the maverick, its comming back to life. Seemed like the more I drove it, the better its getting. What year did the C4's have screw in vacuum modulators? Now, when I hook up the modulator, the whole tranny quits working! Unhook it, and it works. Ive been shifting it manually, it hits 3rd gear about 45 mph, I have a spare valve body ready to drop in,, incase the new modulator I get,, dont help. Its not slipping, (it does when the modulator is hooked up) fluid is new, probably a quart low, (9 quarts in) Ive got a leak on the tail shaft, and a drip off the cooler lines. Can I check the line pressure with a typical guage? 300 psi guage big enough? and, can I leave the guage in with a custom line fitting run into the inside of the car? Chad

The pressure test port is 1/8" tapered pipe thread. If you have a line long enough you can put the gauge any place you want. 300 psi is the correct gauge. you should never see more than 250 (stock pressures go from about 160 to 200 psi)

unhooking the modulator boosts presures..... if it stops working when it is hooked up...... (all I can do is sit here and shake my head - I have never heard of that before) You got me!
