    Who's running what rear end gears behind their AOD's????
    I'm putting an AOD behind my 302, and figured since the rear end is out for cleaning, I may as well plop in some gears...

    How well does an AOD fit in the Mav's ? I was wondering since it's some people's opinions:16suspect that the C6 and FMX's don't fit.;) If these don't, it stands to reason the AOD won't either. All use the same large bellhousings. Same clearances are problems in V8 Ranger swaps too sometimes.

    O.D. is wonderfull. I have a T-5 in front of my 3.70s. Turns them into 2.52s in overdrive....
    With the AOD and its .67 overdrive 4.56 = 3.05
    3.80 = 2.55
    4.11 = 2.75

    Aod

    In my Mustang I ran 3.73's for a while and then 4.10's. I had 28 inch tall tires, combination worked great even with a loose convertor. Mine was a non-lockup, as my car was very race oriented for a street car, so I had to run a really good trans cooler.

    My Fairlane has 3.73's with a Tremec 5 speed, and that works out great. 80mph is around 2400rpm.

    My wife's turbo Maverick will have a 4R70W, which is an AOD with a lower first and second gear, will probably run either 3.27's or 3.55's.

    I want to put more miles on my 3.55's. So far it seems a bit lethargic (thanks to spell check) from a dead stop. I was even looking at a 4.63. Seems to go from 4.11 to 4.63 for a 8" rear. Phil

    Dave; I run 3:55's in my T5, which is pretty close in the overdrive. Not too bad out of the hole, but could be better. Great on the highway. I turn about 2300 rpm at 80mph, and get about 23mpg on the highway. Good luck!

    I'm building a driver more than a race car, so they should work. What really amazes me is when I priced them today from NPD they were $315 US, and I called my local speed shop, asked for Richmond Gears, and I can get them here, without shipping for $260 Canadian..
