are c4 converters interchangeable

    1972 Maverick 351w swap, 1965 Mustang 355 glide, 1993 civic daily driver
    I was wondering if the torque coverters for a big bell c4 and a small bell c4 were the same. Both with 26 spline imput shafts. I have a 10 inch ptc converter. The previos owner ran it behind a small bell c4

    no problem I have both styles of transmissions just wanted to be sure

    There's a 10.5 bolt pattern and the other is listed in the Summit catalog as 11.438.:)

    The converters are different bolt patterns and outside diameters.
    the large converter won't fit in the small bell and the small converter will not work in the large bell housing.
