It's new, with oil from factory, drivening with street tires it hooks both wheels, but with slicks I cant warm up tires, only one wheel spin. No mather in the water box or dry surface, sometimes it takes both wheels and then loose one, the drivers side. Is this normal acting to the lsd? When I start from the lights, I get good grip from both wheels. I have line lock. Now I have apr. 600miles on it.
    Thanks for yor input.

if you have a line lock on the front wheels it should spin both tires. especially in the waterbox. did they have you put in a gear fluid in the rear for traction lok along with the fluid? only other thing i can say is to call auburn or your rep over there.:)

They mean GONNA SLIP, when they say LIMITED. A Detroit is the ONLY automatic postive traction carrier there is. If you want true, all the time postive traction without the binding of a spool. Buy a Detroit.

My one experience with a "posi" unit in my other Maverick was the same. You just can't do a good two wheel burnout with a "limited slip" unit. Like previously mentioned by Blown 5.0, a detroit locker would be the best way to go if you are still driving on the street...if you can put up with the clicking sounds while turning. I just installed one in my 71...can't wait to get back to the track to see how it performs. :D

DOH! Now you tell me. The clicking isn't so bad...it's the occasional loud BANG when coming out of a turn that scares the crap out of you...:rofl2:

I bought the soft-locker(no clicking but I do get the odd "bang")...one of the best things I ever did to the car! Had my "posi" rebuilt twice..both times it only lasted a short time before I got the dreaded "one-wheel" burnout. The posi would drift to the right all the way down the track..with the locker it's straight as an arrow!

The Detroit will BANG!!!!, and loud sometimes. Mine was actually one that had been blueprinted for Nascar. The spring was kinda stiff for street duty. But after several thousand miles and Amsoil gear lube, mine hardly ever Bangs anymore. But it always is POSITIVE.
