just got back and took a shower. had a great time, seeing old friends and making new ones. got there tuesday. set up and visited wednesday. thursday had 2 time trials. 1st one, got too hot as a car oiled the starting line down before me and had to wait for the clean up. had a -.001 light and ran 11.85. fastest the car has ever ran. 2nd one, had an .000 light and ran another 11.85. i'm in trouble as it's only going to get cooler and faster. fastest i can run for the class is 11.90. took 4 degrees timing out and put 40 lbs. of weight in the trunk.and still went 11.81. ended up with 90 lbs. of added weight and was still breaking out most rounds. can't figure out why i don't have those good lights during the competition. anyway i went 5 rds. in the race of champions. then couldn't get the car cooled down. i left the line at 185 and got back to the pits at 230. needless to say i didn't run the number. sunday morning i found the fan wire had come loose. fixed that and went 3 rds. then ran another ford that dialed 19.80. i was dialed 11.90. too long to wait. i got anxious and went red. oh well, with the tow money we get and what i won in the roc and the finals i just about paid for the whole trip. hotel, food, diesel, and all. already looking forward to next year. the et finals are in las vegas. just got to make the team again. thanks for everyone's support.
you rock.. i wish you could have won the whole thing... but we were rooting for you the whole time good to hear of the new fast times... sounds like you had a blast
yeah, now i'm going to have to change my time slip. also i got interviewed by a gal and cameraman that was from espn2. she said they were hired by "nhra today" today and they would turn in the film to nhra today. don't know if this will be on this week or the next. also in the pits i did an interview with scotty hudson who puts on the computer show "speed scene live" on tuesday nights at 6 pacific time. he also took a film of the car and said he would try to get some film of me racing.
