I just replaced the weather stripping on the front and rear glass. I used urethane sealer on the front glass. Is there a need for it on the back glass? There was really nothing there when I removed the glass. Anyone?

You shouldn't use urethane on any window with a rubber gasket, it needs to flex & move with the car. From the factory there would have been 2 sided foam tape around the window lip, and butyl as a sealer.

I used a little urethane on just on the bottom of the rear window between the seal and the metal. That is the only place I used any sealer. Basically. I did it because there is no lip at the bottom and the only thing that holds the window at the bottom is the trim that screws in under the trunk. My car really doesn't sit out in the rain but it hasn't leaked through a few car washes.

We do put a small strip of urethane around the back glass just to off-set any likely hood of leaks.
