Back spacing

    To run cragar ss rims 17X8 what backspacing do i need to get, i have read a couple different things and really not sure which one is right.

    I have 4 1/4". Works great, but every car is different.

    275 40 18 with a 4.5" or 5" back space

    but it looks mean

    that rear wheel looks like a 10"wide boyd coddington with at least a 315/30R18 tire

    Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
    been there done that...

    go with a 4... i doubt cragar makes a 4-1/4 so just go 4. anything else will rub unless you like skinny tires in the rear.

    you can go between a 245 up to a 275. if they make it i'd go a x9 with a 4 bs with a 265 40.
