Gosh, it's been a while since I've seen you post! Yeah, it's hot here too...actually not really hot, just humid. We ran sunday afternoon. I ran dad twice, lost to him first time when I ran off the dial and he ran dead on, and he "goofed" the 2nd time and gave it to me. 'Course he didn't have a chance anyway, my .512 light to his .54-something. That, and I ran 8.109 on a 8.10 dial. I ended up with runner up in No electronics, could have taken the guy pretty easily as he's a die-hard top end racer, but my .654 light against his .616 wasn't going to do much. Besides, I shook the tires pretty hard 50-60 feet out and couldn't run the number...which gave him PLENTY of time to pedal it on the far end. That .654 light I had in the final...hopefully we won't be seeing that too much. I've been pretty sharp at the tree all year, just guessing the dial in has been the biggest challenge. I've learned the car pretty well by now, we'll see what happens in a couple weeks.

I made it down to the last three cars at baytown two weeks ago had 88 cars in n/e ran a 11.060 on a 11.06 ran the track champ he is 18 years old chev nova he had a 11.271 on a 11.27 but his light was a 047 to my 067 that put me out. Going back this sat to try my luck. Them kids are bad on the old folks on the lights but it was fun. Scott at the track did the picture he is good at taking them for the racers

Good to see you again, Ivy.

No racing here yet. Car is at Texas Hot Rods in south Houston. It's 'supposed' to crank up this weekend.

Good luck this season and keep us posted.

i started off slow at firebird in phoenix, but have been slowly moving up. after first race was in 21st, 2nd race moved to 17th, 3rd race up to 12th. 4th race this weekend. at southwestern in tucson i missed the first race and was tied for 41st with 10 other guys that didn't make it either. 2nd race went to the semi's and moved to 12th. 3rd race went to the semi's again and moved up to 4th. this week i couldn't see the stripe as i was sitting on my head and gave the stripe away by .005 after scrubbing 16 mph. (ouch). was going to stay till the end and see if they gave away a trophy for stupidest move of the night. actually i still moved to 3rd and am still within i round of first. it could have been worse. still, it's a lot of fun being with all the guys and gals i race with.:)

Don thats good get that # 1 spot The deal with baytown is you go out the first round you get no points. Thats what i did. I just loaded up but you can run for the money i need points. I was sick the first of the year and was out for five weeks with bladder stones they had to go up and get them out aint no fun. Good luck hope you get #1

Hey fordman I believe I met you at the div. 4 bracket finals two or three years ago. I have a brown two door that I ran in no-e quick and a blue four door that I ran in no-e street. I have been to every div. 4 finals since the mid eighties.(Oh nice wheelie, wish I could do that...)

stmanser, cmon out and join us. youll get a heads up on what it's like and be ready for next year. then you can start from the beginning of the year and be ahead of the learning curve. you don't have to join the team to run the races.:)
