Just playing around with the forum...after reading CometChick and getting the idea of how to post pics straight from my website and not having to upload them to the forum and thumbnail them...

Anyway, got the fenders sanded down to bare metal. Much more work than I expected. This priming project will take quite a while.

Anyway, I was amazed at how many little dents I found that will need filling, and one that will need to be pounded out! I thought they looked straight, but you can clearly see the low spots when you start sanding.

Hope to have these done and back on the car by the Waco meet...

So did you strip them or just DA them down? It looks good.

If you really want to find all the high and low spots, prime the fender and after it dries, spray a real light mist coat of black paint on top of the primer. When the black paint dries, block sand the fender. Every little low spot. high spot and ding will stand out as plain as day. You'll find dings you didn't even know were there.

I DA'd them. I might try that black spray deal when it comes time to paint, just to get it perfect.

When mine were stipped they had dents everywhere! My painter said that most of his work and $ will/has been on the fenders. (doors also) BUT, they look great now. Marker lights are now filled in. Paint soon:yippee:

Be careful with that DA sander on the ridges. Sharp body lines are easily rounded off.
