started doing the bodywork on my Maverick, began a lil bit by sanding the paint down, theres gotta be about 1/8" of paint on the thing. And discovered that the idiots that painted the car before had instead of fixing any dents, just filled them in with good old bondo. So now instead of patching the rust in the rear lower quarters,It looks like I`ll be replacing the whole lower rear section on the passenger side.It looks like it was hit there before and poorly straightened out/filled with bondo. The good news is that the car IS as solid as I thought it was, with very minmal rust in the rear quarters only, and a a lil bit on the lip of the Grabber hood. The fun begins.I think I`m going with silver paint with sonic blue deck stripes.

That sounds like a good color combination. I'd have the interior color match the stripes.

I keep flip flopping between silver with satin blackouts on the tail panel and hood, and orange :D
Good to hear you have a solid car to work with. Its pretty normal to fill small dents with bondo, I mean what else are you gonna do? Even the best body persons in the world use bondo as a skimcoat to smooth panels. Or maybe you mean you have huge, caved in side type dents that were bondoed up?

Not huge dents, just small ones that could have been easily hammered out.

Depends on what the previous person wanted on the car. They may have wanted a cheap job thus the putty, sand, and paint process.
