My car was a 6cyl. I got a bar in the mail, but it punched a hole in the packaging and the bolts leaked out. I have nothing that fits in the bolt holes....are they special, or a hardware store item? Anyone know what I should ask for? Thanks!

Factory bolt is special and is made by AMK and sold by many of the Ford parts places. Others have used a grade 8 regular bolt - but this is what the factory used.

I can see where that tapered head would allow the bar to have maximum holding power without being over-torqued. Without a very firm grip, it would seem to me that the bar would not stop any flexing. Without those bolts (or at least a grade 8 with an extra nut tightened to the head and ground cone shaped), the torque required to keep the bar stationary might ruin the threaded inserts. That is my guess.
