Engine should be getting put together soon so it's time to figure out what I want to do for the belt. I will onlybe running the alternator and water pump. I am pretty sure the balancer the engine builder got me will work with either type of pulley. Sooo. should i do V belt or serpantine? Can you guys post pictures of what you are running? This is what I am looking for except I do not want a cog set up. It looks cleaner with the alternator lower. Anyone know where to get these brackets? I kinda like what is in this picture.
Lotsa brackets on ebay or at about any Mustang vendor... The OEM setup that have the triangular bracket with slotted arm will mount alt at approx mid point... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...RS0&_nkw=ford+302+alternator+bracket&_sacat=0 It appears the setup pictured is using a smooth water pump pulley driven by the ribbed side of belt, that will wear belt, should have a ribbed pulley(those are common on 5.0 Grand Marquis & Crown Vic)..
Holy price tag (and a little too bling). Any of you guys running the newer style alternator from a fox body? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-289-30...tor-/111135597147?hash=item19e032a25b&vxp=mtr
Miller speed makes the top cogged set up shown...Does em in 1" an 2" width belts. Been considering the set up for my project mav.
A buzz can of your favorite color can fix anything... Look closely, the silver alt on red block engine is painted as well...
