Hey guys, I'm rebuilding my front end using a PST kit ( but with rubber torque rod bushings) and ran into a snag. The camber adjustment lobes appear to be so seized to the camber bolts that when turning the bolt, the lobes simply bent or tore the tabs (see attached picture. That is NOT my maverick, I stole the picture from Krazy Comet). Is that part easily replaced or fixed or am I looking at having to hire someone to weld it for me? Thanks!
The camber bolts are supposed to be "seized" to the adjustment lobes if that is what you are talking about. The tabs will need to be repaired in order to adjust and hold the camber bolts.
Yeah there's one on the nut side of the bolt too which doesn't make a ton of sense to me. That one has become fused to the bolt over the years I guess. I'll be cutting the bolt off but the tabs are a bigger concern...
The one on the nut side moves along with the bolt as well. You can get new camber bolts from any Mustang vendor.
The eccentric will give you a greater degree of adjustment as compared to the eliminators. I think the eliminators have maybe 12 different combinations?
Also, with the eccentric's once they are set, they are locked in place, the OEM camber adjusters can be knocked out of adjustment if hit a big pot hole etc.....well worth the price and upgrade, since you already purchased new PST parts. You can contact member TOPORANGER, he sells these and may offer a member's only price........ http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-MERCUR...hash=item2a5e8e8c41:m:m7s7m4j34ilexG3JfXmcPog David
