Black out hood

    I need some measurements on the location of the black-out part on Maverick hoods.. Looks like maybe about 1in on each side from the raised portion on the hood.. can any1 help with the dimensions .THKS

    paint from the trim piece on the front to the hood crack at the cowl...then from hood/fender crack on left side to the hood/fender crack on the right side. i have painted several hoods like this. :yup: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :rofl2: ..frank...

    Ya... we need some numbers here!!! which way would you recommend painting.... left to right or vice versa?

    with ..rattle cans...you paint from left to right for the first coat and then front to back for the next :tiphat: ...frank...:bouncy:

    Thanks to all for your replys.. I have a Comet hood scoop also on the car with a huge hole under the scoop.. HMMMMM. I am wanting to paint the scoop satin black along with the hood and taillight panel.. I only want part of the raised up section on the hood just like the grabbers had.Same kinda thing like brian branham,barry m<Cdaniels etc.. If not able to get measurements then I will just guess?????..thks in advance again

    go with the comet gt strip like mercurycruizers has in front of that scoop. JMO

    i can give you some measures of mine though if thats what you want:16suspect:thumbsup:

    sierra grabber you have a grabber hood do you not.. I have a regular mav hood but with a comet gt scoop on it.. I want the basic same idea as a grabber hood ,only with a comet gt scoop.. I have seen some cars on this board with the same scoop but blacked out around the scoop.. it will be greatly appreiciated with your measurements thank you ..RON

    yeah my grabber hood doesnt have that same raised center. i would have it about an inch back from the flat part of the top of that center ridge and all the way back to about the same distance from the back of the hood near end of the hood. ill give you what i have though by the end of the weekend.(y)

    sorry for the delay. im showing 31/2 " from back of hood to back of stripe. dont know if the rest of the measurements will really help you since you have a standard hood. let me know though
