Ive seen some orginal blues on the mavs that is a tad darker than grabber blue c.Can anyone tell me the colors that came on the 70-72 mavs.i wanna see if I can figure out what blue color I want to paint the 70 mav,if there is alink that tells me that would be great thanks
There were a couple darker blues used for the Maverick. Code - Q - Medium Blue (Hippie Maverick name was "There She Blue") Code - 6 - Acapulco Blue (Hippie Maverick name was "Hulla Blue") You can see chips on the internet, but I like to stop at an auto paint place and look at a chip book.
different brand/type of paint will be different color also. primer color (gray, black, red, yellow, etc. etc.) under paint affects the paint color also. that's why it's hard to touch up a paint job... new or old. you can have the paint mixed at three different paint stores and will have three different shades of that color... these are the reasons I don't like seeing a car painted a...stock color, very seldom does it match...JMO
It's very hard, I painted my car three times before I found my perfect color. That was the blue poly. At least back then paint was affordable. lol
Just wondering if anyone has a color chart for a '73 Mav? I'm getting near paint and I've got to make up my mind soon. Thanks, PaMaverick
Go to paint chips 1973 ford . Most of your paint stores have a catalog with the make an year . I hope you find your color . Paint has really gotten expensive .
Auto Color Library online has every year and make - of course online you are subject how your monitor is set - but it is great to research colors and codes. http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ .
