no the mav is the 4 lug and the mustang is the 5 I have the same and for some odd reason they dont interchange
No, the Maverick is a 5 lug being a '75. I could have swore the '91 Mustang my dad parted out years ago was a 5 lug, because he swapped all the 5 lug stuff over to his '84 GT that was originally 4 lug. The lug spacing on a Mav is 4.5. Same as Mustangs, Lincolns, Mercurys, you name it.
You can CHANGE the mustang over to a 5 lug, so maybe he or the previous owner did. But thanks.. someone might sell their wheels off their 67 Mustang that I wanted to buy, so now I know they will fit Thank you man.
Here is a nice reference but it is metric. http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Ford___Vehicle_Bolt_Pattern_Reference.cfm Maverick is a 5 on 4.5 inch pattern
No, someone had used that car for a donor then and stuck their 4 lug stuff back on it or something. From 1974 and on, all Mavericks and Comets were 5 lug regardless of anything else. 5 lug disc brakes became standard in '76. All factory V8 cars from '71-'72 were 5 lug and '71-'73 4 doors were 5 lug. I've seen '73 2 doors with 6 cylinders and both 4 and 5 lug, so I'm not sure about those. I know the '73 2 door I'm about to get is 5 lug.
Yes, no, maybe, depends .... :evilsmile There has been SO much opinion on what will and will not fit, that this is the only answer one can give and be 100% right. Some cars were assembled slightly different from others it seems. Some cars take a 275 with no modification (rolling) of the wheel well lip and others need it massaged some. And you need the right backspacing on the wheel so it will not hit the spring - from 4" to 4 1/2" usually works from what others have done. But again, some cars take a 4 1/2" and others do not. I stayed with a 255/60/15 and 4" backspace to avoid any problems. Eric J
We pretty much know that to be a fact. When putting the patch panels in Terry's '77, we found many small details to be slightly diffrent. From the wheel lip, to the contour of the panel, to how many and what position the spot welds were in from the factory. Small diffrencecs that are not really noticeable to the naked eye when just compareing 2 seperate cars. I guess it depends on where your car was built, what year, what day of the week, and what mood the guy on the assembly line was in.
lug pattern on a 70 mav I have a similar issue...i have had my maverick for about 2 months and i wanted to get some wheels for it so i wouldnt have to keep pulling off the original hubcaps. I need to know the lug pattern on the 4 lug so i wont make the mistake of buying the wrong wheels again.
