When I go to bolting the fenders back on, can I use a thin rubber washer or something to prevent the bolts from scratching into my epoxy primer?

It won't get painted for a while, and when I do that, it will have all new bolts, and will get painted right over them, but for now, I don't want to nick into the primer opening up any areas for potential rust.

Never heard of it. Might not keep things in alignment.

I am only thinking of this because the fenders will go on in a week or so, then come back off while I work on the doors and body, then someday will go back on for painting.

Once it is on for painting, I don't really care if the primer is scratched under the washers, but for the next year or 3, I don't want any rust to start forming anywhere.
