:hmmm: Does anybody know if this thing still exists? I found this in one of my old Ford books, Peterson's Complete Ford Book published in 1972. This was probably one sweet ride.

I doubt it but it would be neat if it did.

Check out the Mustang dash. Wonder what mods they had to do to get that in there? :hmmm:

My guess is that this car was the first ever 6 to 8 engine swap in a Maverick.

Btw: I have that book. The Mustang interior photos came from another article in the book. It is a soft bound book, but is setup like a car magazine. Lots of different hype articles about Ford Products.
The Mustang interior shots in the Mav article confounded me for a while too.

If you read about his setup...
It is a bone stock Boss 302 drivetrain with some added shiny parts.
If memory serves, it has some really high rear gears. 2.75s?
Nope... 4.11 gears. It's the tranny that had the close, and high ratios.

Hot Rod Magazine had an article in February 1970 where they swapped a Boss 302 engine into a Maverick. They had headers on that one though.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
glad someone scaned that. i have that same book.. it also got a maverick with a I6 with a turbo on it that ak miller did.

as far as the 70's maverick that hot rod did. i know the guy that did that. frod gave him all the parts to convert it. that one was supposed to be the first one done.

i'll e-mail the guy and see if its the same one.

Derrick I think the Hot Rod swap was the first documented swap. They used all Ford parts except the headers. Hmmmm a Boss 302 crate engine

When I read that it rang a bell. I went out in the garage and found out I have this same issue. I had forgotten all about it. I sure miss my mind.

Did anyone notice the wooden grille?
I guess the guy deserves something for imagination, but I just can't get myself to like it.
