I am almost finished installing my bow style headliner on my '72 and I have to say it is a bi**ch to do! if you are ever going to replace yours, go to a pro! I thought "well...I've done evrything else to the car I can do this". It's almost done an I will have pics tomorrow but don't try this at home with out a lot of time and patience! Just venting...thanks!
Yeah the glass was out. That's the only way I could see to really do it right. That's because the material wraps around the welds where the front and rear glass go. Once that's done, the glass can be re-installed. I have a glass guy coming out on Monday. Rock on!
Watched a guy who had done many before put one in Terry's '77. If a 'pro' can't even make it look easy, no way in hell I'm trying it! I love how the magazines make it sound like it's no big deal though.
Soooo, the $120 I paid a pro ro put my in was good money well spent, huh? edit: ro should not be in the above sentence. That is what happens while trying to type, eat a sandwich, and "listen" to the wife all at the same time.
I agree,, it is a bitch, but like anything else, you do it enough times and it gets easier. I dunno if I am gonna put mine in my 71 or not. Depends on my mood at that time I guess. Dan
headliner well if it makes you all feel any better i have to do 2 headliners one on my maverick and one in my 69 charger im thinking the chargers will be much more difficult then the mavs
Well guys, the last bit of glue is drying now and I have to say that's the first and last time I'm going to one of those! That having been said, I've said that before about restoration too! As far as the windows, I could probably do it but it makes me feel better knowing ti was set professionally and I hope he has a couple of "sealing tricks" to aid the new rubber gaskets in their fight against leakage!! I'll post pics tonight. Rock on!
