I am having an issue with my brake lights, i havent been able to track down the problem. my tailights and both turn signals work fine, but the brake lights dont work at all, thinking it was a brake light switch i unplugged the wires and connected them together to see if that would turn on the brake lights. only one brake light turned on and it isnt the bulb because both turn signals work right? and help figuring this out would be awsome.

Those 1157 bulbs are dual elements, if I recall. Just cuz on element is working don't mean the bulb is gud. Have u tried switching bulbs?

nope thats a good idea, i must have thought they worked differently because the tailights and blinkers work, i thought the blinker and brakelights where on one filament and the tailights where on the other, thanks for the idea ill go check now

If both signals and tail lights operate properly the bulbs are good, can't have a signal and no brake light as they operate from the same bulb element...

More often than not if the signal operates and brake doesn't doesn't, the brake light or signal switch is defective... Yes signal switch, the circuit for brake lights travels through it, fairly common to find a broken wire at the switch pivot...
