Anyone know offhand which wire is "hot" coming off of the brake light switch when the brake pedal is pushed? I'm needing to tie into it, and with cage, fixed racing seat, and auto shifter, I'd prefer to only have to wedge myself into that position once to tie it in lol. And any idea how the wires are attached to it? Any chance they're a spade connection?

    Thanks for any help...

In my 70, IIRC, Grn/Rd gets power from the battery and Green is connected to the brake lights.

On my 73 was a dedicated plug. I recently replaced my switch and used a snap on connector over the wire to connect a 3rd brake lite.

Can't tell you about the wires, but if your car has a clutch pedal, you might consider removing that if you are going to take the switch out physically.

The brake light switch replacement was easy enough in my current Comet (Automatic Trans) and I have only had to do that once in 21 years.
My white Comet (long gone) was a stick and I think I had three of them fail in 4 years. I still remember that you could ...
    A) Look at it.
    B) Touch it.
or C) Get a tool in there.
.... but don't try combining any two of those. That clutch pedal was really in the way. Never thought to pull the pedal out back in the day... I was young.

are you trying to turn the...brake lights... on from another source? if so is splicing into the system at the back of the car an option?

No...I've got a dual-range tach...and I want to set the shift light to come on at a lower rpm when I'm holding the brake pedal down. When I'm staged at the track I want the shift light to come on where I have the low range set. (y)

Sounds like the Lt Green wire may be my huckleberry.

    Thanks guys!
