I just recently got new drums, shoes, bearings, wheel cylinders and ever since then when i stop i have a bad vibration in the front brakes. What would cause the bad vibration? thanks
A vibration or pulsation in the pedal/steering wheel???.Did you put the brake shoes on properly??? 2 kinds of shoes for each wheel: a Primary which has a smaller friction pad on it and...a secondary more friction material on it.The primary goes to the front...the scondary goes to the back when mounted.Or a warped drum.Worn out front end parts may also be your problem.
I had them installed at a speed shop. I trust these guys and they do good work but maybe it was a bad day. I have a call into him now to see what he says.
Does your car have power steering??? if so It may be a bad P/S ram causing your problem. When they go they will sometimes cause the whole front end to shake rattle and roll.
i find that new drums need to be turned. they are never true out of the box. also the orignal drums where swedged on the studs so they woundnt come off. ive seen drums get hung up on this swedging and sit cockeyed on the hub.
Yea were gonna true true them up, we think that is the problem. I didnt know about the swedging so thats interesting. thanks
