    Huh. I didn't know that. My uncle has about 3 of those jeeps.

    yea i remember hearing about the WWII ford jeeps. thought all that was done by the 70's tho.

    Yes, the Ford bought the Willys of Brazil in 1967 and continued to produce the Jeep up to 1983.
    In 1975, the Jeep started to use the new engine 2.3 OHC, the same that our Mavericks equipped.

    If I recall correctly, the Ford WWII Jeeps had horizontal grilles on the front while the Willy's had vertical (as is now a trademark).

    Hard to tell from the photo but looks like a Willy's grille on that photo so makes sense that it is an actual Willy's product. Didn't know that Ford bought Willy's of Brazil though! Interesting stuff.

    I have always wondered about the Ford Jeep in that picture thanks for the info and i love the old black and white Jeep picture, very cool.:) NMCC

    was a project of the Willys of Brazil, based on a model Renault. Released by Ford in 1968.

    '66 american Galaxie body, but with some differences.

    G Ford F-75
    Based on the american Willys pickup, but the front has brazilian design by Willys Overland of Brazil.

    H Ford Rural
    Based on the american Willys SW. the also has brazilian design...
